Christmas down under!

MERRY CHRISTMAS! A very late Christmas post but i was having so much fun over the Christmas holidays, i just didn't have time... I'm sorry!
Our Christmas was spent a little differently this year than what we are use to. Firstly it was HOT, secondly it wasn't cold and thirdly it was HOT!!!!!!! This was our first Christmas being away from family and spending our first Christmas along and eighth together! Wow!
We had got our apartment a week before Christmas so it was time we started getting into the Christmas spirit and decorate the house. We got ourselves a Christmas tree, stockings, calendars and fake snow.

THE CHRISTMAS SHOP!

I'm putting this out there, i hate food shopping. I have never known something more stressful and none satisfying in my life. Especially at Christmas time! No one is nice, no one is in the jolly spirit, its all run over your toes with trolly's and steal the last turkey! We did not enjoy this experience what so ever and we came out the shop saying 'we have to do this for the rest of our lives -_-' 

CHRISTMAS DAY!

Being in Sydney the one thing we knew we had to do was go to the one  place were we knew everyone was going to be happy and merry.... Bondi Beach!

It was amazing! The day was perfect for the beach and I don't know if i said it but it was very hot. Blue skies and not a cloud in the sky! Followed by us tackling a Christmas dinner, games and skyping home to family!

We all knew this was going to happen!

We are very lucky enough to have an amazing family and friends that spoilt us with a package of presents and cards. We wasn't expecting it but we certainly welcomed it with open arms when we saw it was filled with chocolate, sweets and twiglets!

My mum's exact words were when i asked what was in there on the phone 'Oh its only Christmas and birthday cards' Yeahhhhh!

We had a brilliant day with our little adoptive family, we did just want to write Christmas off this year as were not with our families  but when your only here once you need to make the most of things and enjoy the moment because in a year or two its all going to be a memory and what would you rather remember: the time you did nothing or the time you spent Christmas day in bikinis and swim shorts with Christmas hats on on Bondi beach with friends!

Sydney Tower Restaurant

Im in love with food! Any thing with food, I'm there! So when it come to picking what food related activity to do this week we thought it was time to see Sydney from up top! 

There was two dining choices to choose from, the 360 Bar and dining or the Sydney Tower Restaurant. The 360 bar and dining was basically a sit down meal with a set menu and the Tower restaurant was a buffet. As we didn't like the menu for the 360, we thought buffet then we got more for our money as we could go up as many times as we wanted! 

It was pretty high up so your in the elevator for about 5 minutes and you can hear your ears pop as you reach the top. We was greeted by a man that called us Mr & Mrs Cornwall, threw me back a bit but i could get use to it its better then getting called Mrs Turtle because they can't pronounce my last name! 

Our seats where pretty amazing, we had a booth. Because we booked for 6pm it wasn't too busy and we had had the buffet to ourselves for a little while. I got a jug... of lemonade, rock star that i am and Bobby got a jog of toohey new. 

Food

We have to admit, it was a little disappointing. I was so excited for the seafood but when you see a man go in with his hands it kinda puts you off it. But i did get to try salt and chili squid and boy oh boy it was good, a bit spicy (by little i mean a lot) for my likings but with a jug of lemonade i knew i would be fine. Bobby tried Kangaroo, crocodile and emu. He verdict was emu was alright nothing amazing, he wouldn't rush to have it again. He wasn't a fan of crocodile but kangaroo was nice. We tried a few other things but we didn't go back for seconds. The food was alright but we thought we would be taking 2 or 3 plates back to the table with us but there weren't much on the plate.

Desserts destroyed us! We had a lot of desserts, ice cream, water melon, orange's, melon, jelly, lemon tart, chocolate mud cake, profiteroles, apple and cinnamon tart and a lavender & honey mouse. I'm not kidding between us that's what we had! 

The View 

Your pretty much paying for the view and we was OK with that because  it was AMAZING! I don't think we looked at each other much in the evening, our heads were constantly looking out the window. the time we was there it had done a full 360 around Sydney. It really was breathtaking and i said WOW every 5 seconds. It was such a good night and definitely worth every penny!

Im Angus restaurant

It was about time that we tried one of these restaurants, so we decided what we fancied and it was steak. The only place that looked like it did steak was I'm Angus and I'm so glad we chose there because boy oh boy oh boy it was lovely!

With the Vivid festival on, we got seated right on the water front so that we could watch the firework display. How romantic!  

They had a special on for $28 dollars and you got 2 courses, We both went for sirloin and for dessert bobby had sorbet and i of course went for anything chocolate on the menu. 

Because i like mine extra well done, basically burnt they said we had to wait a little longer.

Bobby decided to have a Blonde beer, i thought i would be fruity and try a raspberry mojito thinking it would only be a little bit of alcohol..... I was VERY wrong.

They put the whole bottle of vodka in there, one sip and i was feeling light headed, 2 sips and i was on the floor! As it was $18 dollars bobby wasn't letting it go to waste so he finished it off for me. 

The steak was probably the best i have ever tried and every other steak i have had means nothing to me (sorry dad) but it was so good! They had their chips in mini frying pans, which was cute and we tried peppercorn sauce for the first time and was pleasantly surprised!

Within a minute i had inhaled my dessert and staring at Bobby's hoping he would get the hint i wanted to try some of his. He clocked me from the beginning just didn't let me lol! He had a selection of sorbets; coconut, passion fruit, mango and another one he didn't like we think it was melon but whatever it was, it wasn't nice.

Overall we loved this restaurant and will probably go back.
